We will renovate the church and chapels of the parish of Albergaria dos Doze, so that we can continue to have places of worship and maintain the historical and identity heritage of our villages.
The church of Albergaria dos Doze was inaugurated on February 2, 1964. It is a large building, 18 meters high. The parish of Albergaria dos Doze also has two chapels: the chapel in Gracieira and the Santa Marta chapel in Ruge-Água. Storm Krystin caused extensive damage to several buildings. In the church of Albergaria dos Doze, many tiles and roof tiles were damaged in the area of the roof near the altar, allowing water to enter the church for several days. The rectory also suffered extensive damage, as the chimney broke, destroying part of the roof and leaving the building exposed to the elements. In the Gracieira chapel, the roof was also damaged, and water infiltration was so severe that the interior wall coverings were ruined. In the Santa Marta chapel in Ruge-Água, the roof and eaves were damaged, as were the paintings, due to water infiltration. The cross on the chapel was destroyed and the horn on the tower was damaged.
