Ideas that can be crowdfunded are only limited by our imagination. It is our enthusiasm and commitment in promoting the campaign among people that might be interested in supporting us that turn these projects into reality.

Several sectors are very successful at crowdfunding: music recording, book publishing, social good, animal protection, independent breweries... You name it.

Crowdfunding was brought to Portugal in the summer of 2011. Since then, hundreds of success cases have raised millions of euros. Some of them are highlighted here but you can check them all out. You'll notice very cool videos in some, attractive perks in others, proof of a good promotion in even others but most of all lots of passion and dedication in all of them.

Records, concerts, documentaries

• Blasted Mechanism

  Portuguese band Blasted Mechanism raised funds to record their 8th album and create their new set of suits.

• Brigada Victor Jara

  Portuguese musicians Brigada Victor Jara have produced 10 records in their lifetime. This campaign helped them launch a special set that includes all of them to celebrate 40 years of existence.

• Big Band Junior

  Funds raised were used to record a CD from Jazz band Big Band Junior. The surplus was donated to the Portuguese organization Charcot Marie Tooth.

  After a storm damaged the station's equipment, Super FM was able to broadcast again thanks to the generosity of its loyal listeners.

  Bruno Aleixo is a very peculiar comedian in Portugal and was able to publish his recipes book, based on a famous TV episode.

  Livros de Ontem publisher, in partnership with PPL, has created a new way to publish in Portugal using crowdfunding.

  Photographic series "Floresta Negra" was born in 2012 when John Gallo captured pictures of burnt forest, focusing on the heritage that will be left to future generations.

  This restaurant's staff are almost exclusively refugees that use their cooking skills to connect them and their customers to their home town.
