It all began one early morning that seemed like so many others, until depression Kristin arrived without warning and changed everything. The Leiria Karting track, the stage for so many triumphs, laughter, and thrilling first laps, was left marked by destruction. Where engines and applause once roared, only silence, damage, and uncertainty remained.
For years, this space was much more than a track. It was where young people discovered passions, where families created memories, and where the community gathered around something greater. But now, what we took so long to build, beyond the urgent need for reconstruction, is the opportunity to correct past shortcomings and build a more inclusive, accessible, and suitable Leiria Karting Track for everyone. The damage is extensive, and the recovery requires resources that we cannot afford alone.
However, we refuse to let this story end like this. We believe that, with everyone's strength, it is possible to rebuild not only the Leiria Karting Track, but also the spirit it represents. Every contribution will be used to restore and repair infrastructure, expand and improve spaces adapted for people with disabilities, and return this space to the community that depends so much on it.
With this in mind, we intend to equip the Leiria Karting Track with restrooms for people with disabilities and a stairlift for access to the bar, ensuring accessibility, safety, and dignity.
In parallel, the development of adapted sports stands out, offering opportunities for people with disabilities to actively participate in physical activities. Adapted sports not only improve physical health but also strengthen self-esteem, promote social integration, and combat isolation. Following this, we intend to proceed with the acquisition of 12 adapted karts.
