The new Vale da Moira will be born hand in hand between generations. And we have already started, in a partnership between the Biond Association, the Boa Vista Elementary School, the community... and you! Together, we will erase the marks of the storm and plant the future today!

THE PROJECT

The Moira Valley is the green heart of Boa Vista.
After the devastating passage of Storm Kristin, our park was left in ruins: fallen trees, unusable street furniture, leaks in the snack bar, and a silence where smiles once resided. But we will not give up!

We launched this campaign so that the New Vale da Moira can be born stronger, more resilient and, above all, by the hands of those who love it most. This is not just a reconstruction project; it is a community movement with solid foundations.

And we've already begun!

Phase 1 - Planting 19 trees with the children from Boa Vista Elementary School.

In the first phase, celebrating World Forest Day, we removed some stumps and planted the first 19 trees. The Biond Association and the Municipality of Leiria guarantee technical rigor and environmental consultancy. Together, we are planning a smart reforestation project, with native species that protect the soil and resist climate change.

OUR PARTNERSHIPS

🌿 A Living Laboratory: EB da Boa Vista

With the involvement of the Boa Vista Basic School (located "a stone's throw" from the park), the children take on the role of the true "mentors" of this rebirth. They monitor the terrain and are the guardians of this living laboratory, where environmental education takes place outside the classroom.

🤝 Intergenerational Gathering: Our Social Solidarity Institution

Vale da Moira is a meeting point between generations, both in the community (parish) and in the region (Leiria). The park's support bar has been provided by volunteers from the Boa Vista Solidarity Association (IPSS) , in a fundamental partnership with the Union of Parishes of Santa Eufémia and Boa Vista . Restoring the park is also about restoring dignity to the work of these volunteers, improving the quality of life and leisure of our elderly and their families.

Your help is essential.

For this project to come to life, everyone's involvement is essential. Every contribution counts in restoring safety, beauty, and joy to our Valley.

But the heart of this project is the children of the Boa Vista Basic School . They are already involved in monitoring the space and learning about local biodiversity. By supporting the campaign, you are not just buying benches or tables; you are investing in a living laboratory where our children learn to care for nature.

We're counting on everyone... and on you! Together, we will plant the future!

About the author

The Union of Parishes of Santa Eufémia and Boa Vista has, within the current legal framework, responsibilities in promoting and safeguarding the interests of the population in fundamental areas such as Education, the Environment, Development, and Community Protection. Therefore, we are taking the lead on this project, but we are not doing it alone. We are a united community that believes in the value of our natural and social heritage.

União das Freguesias de Santa Eufémia e Boa Vista

Our mission is to ensure that the reconstruction of the Vale da Moira Park in Boa Vista is carried out with complete transparency and rigor. To this end, we work closely with strategic partners:

  • The Biond Association and the Municipality of Leiria have ensured, from the very beginning, that every tree planted and every piece of infrastructure restored adheres to best environmental and sustainability practices.
  • Boa Vista Solidarity Association (IPSS): Has been revitalizing the park for years through its support bar and volunteer work, ensuring that the Valley remains an inclusive space, for everyone and by everyone.
  • Boa Vista Basic School: Its students and teachers are our greatest motivators and our most attentive "inspectors" on the ground.

By supporting this campaign, you are entrusting yourself to a local organization that knows and deeply loves this area and this valley. Our commitment is to transform every euro donated into a direct benefit for the inhabitants of our parish and for all those who seek in Boa Vista and Leiria a unique refuge in nature.

Tax Benefits Statute

As a local authority, donations made may benefit from increased tax benefits under the Personal Income Tax (IRS) and Corporate Income Tax (IRC) regimes, in accordance with the Tax Benefits Statute (Sponsorship Law).

Together, we are the guardians of the Valley of Moira!
