On January 28th , the passage of Storm Kristin caused significant damage to the Vieira de Leiria Volunteer Fire Department headquarters , affecting several areas essential to its operation, including the roof, dormitories, administrative offices, lounge, vehicle park, computer equipment, furniture, and gates .

Despite the inconvenience caused, our priority remained unchanged: to ensure assistance to the population and the protection of people and property . Simultaneously, and with the support of the public, immediate actions were taken to protect the building , with the aim of minimizing further damage.

This application therefore arises with the purpose of securing the necessary support for the recovery of the barracks , allowing us to restore the minimum conditions of operational readiness and continue to perform our mission with the efficiency and dedication that have always characterized us.

The aim is also to ensure better conditions for our Volunteer Firefighters , who dedicate themselves daily to serving the community.

 

About the author

The Vieira de Leiria Volunteer Firefighters Humanitarian Association was founded on January 30, 1947. It began its activity in a garage in the center of the town of Vieira de Leiria and, with much effort and support from everyone, inaugurated its headquarters on Rua 25 de Abril in Vieira de Leiria in 1994, where we are located to this day.

A leading institution in the protection and rescue of the local population, playing a fundamental role in the safety and well-being of the community.

Based on values such as dedication, solidarity and a sense of mission , this association relies on men and women who, every day, put service to others above all else, responding to emergencies, fires, accidents and other incidents.

Beyond its operational activities, the Association also carries out important work within the community, promoting awareness campaigns, prevention efforts, and fostering closer relationships with the population.

Over the years, it has demonstrated an enormous capacity for resilience and adaptation , facing challenges with courage and professionalism, always with the goal of protecting lives and property .

More than just an institution, the Vieira de Leiria Volunteer Firefighters Humanitarian Association is a true pillar of the community, enjoying the support and recognition of all those who benefit from its work every day.

Budget and due dates

Sérgio Venâncio - Construção Civil, Lda - Roof repair, wall and ceiling cladding, painting, window frames, with a total budget of €612,984.03, currently underway with completion scheduled for July 30th.

Decimal - Informatics and Management, Ltd - Installation of new gates at the entrance to the barracks, with a budget of €8,201.64, expected completion date May 31st.

Tecwelding, André Henriques Pereira, Lda - Roof repair, gate installation, €94,161.27, expected completion date July 30th.

Prices already include 23% VAT.
