Campaign in favor of the reconstruction of the physical structures of the various places of worship and community support centers of the Marrazes parish.
The parish of Marrazes has seven Catholic worship centers, each with physical structures such as rooms and halls to support not only the Catholic community, but everyone, according to their capabilities and availability. They are centers of community gathering not only for religious purposes, but also for social and cultural activities.
Tropical Storm Kristin affected virtually all the physical structures in the community, some more than others. Three of them are covered by insurance, but the other four are not.
In the parish, a working group was created with representatives from the various centers to coordinate the reconstruction of the affected structures, and a bank account was also opened to which donations have been requested in order to obtain the necessary funds for the reconstruction. This account also serves to receive support from outside the community, with the distribution then being made by the aforementioned working group.
Two applications were submitted to the Pingo Doce "SOS Bairro Program" which, unfortunately, did not pass the first selection phase. Currently, people from various communities are trying to rebuild as urgently as possible to prevent further deterioration of the buildings, but there are some projects for which there are still no funds to cover the costs.
Therefore, even if the support that may be given to this community is not the full amount needed, the help that the community receives will already be a relief in relation to the high costs it faces.
