The early morning of January 28, 2026, marks a turning point in the history of this club, as Storm Kristin caused significant damage to the infrastructure of the football field where Grupo Desportivo e Recreativo Bidoeirense carries out all its sporting activities.

The parish of Bideira de Cima is located on the northern border of the municipality of Leiria, an area extremely affected by Storm Kristin. The early morning of January 28th had the following severe impacts on the infrastructure of the Bidoeirense Rural Development Group (GDR Bidoeirense).

The football field of the Bidoeirense Sports and Recreation Group is an essential infrastructure for local sports practice, currently serving around 150 athletes.

The intervention aims exclusively at restoring the conditions prior to the disaster, ensuring the resumption of normal sporting activities as quickly as possible.

Without extraordinary financial support, the club faces serious difficulties in fully covering the repair costs, jeopardizing the sustainability of its operations.

Given the severity of the damage, the number of athletes affected, and the social and community impact of the affected infrastructure, the Bidoeirense Sports and Recreation Group is applying for this campaign to raise funds to restore safe conditions for its athletes and all its visitors.

Throughout its nearly 49-year history, the Bidoeirense Sports and Recreation Group has experienced numerous moments of glory and hardship, but also many instances of the strength of a community to grow, maintain, and rebuild associative life in the region.

The Grupo Desportivo e Recreativo Bidoeirense, as an associative entity located in the parish of Bidoeira de Cima, which pursues public interest objectives, particularly in the area of sports development, is one of the most historic and representative associations of the parish of Bidoeira de Cima, in the municipality of Leiria, in regional football, and for 10 years it competed in national football, playing in the 3rd national division.

Considering all the will, dynamism, conviction and social responsibility of this institution, we formally request your collaboration and involvement with this institution to overcome the difficulty caused by Storm Kristin and to refocus sporting activity and together direct the future of the Bidoeirense Sports and Recreation Group in a more encouraging direction and with a future perspective within the football of the Leiria region.

After repairing the damage caused by the storm   All the safety conditions are once again met for practicing sports and continuing to represent the Bidoeirense Sports and Recreation Group in the senior and youth district championships organized by the Leiria Football Association.

4. Football Goals and Substitute Benches €15,835 (VAT Included)

Scheduling:

February 21-28, 2026 (Already completed) : General cleaning of the sports complex and synthetic field, and temporary replacement of the ball net.
2 to 6/03/2026 (Already executed) : Temporary replacement of damaged sports equipment, restoration of electrical power via generator, replacement of aluminum framing, execution of minimum works to allow the resumption of sports activities and official championships.
01/05/2026 to 15/06/2026: Acquisition of damaged sports equipment and final assembly, execution of construction contracts for the wall and support structures for the installation of the ball net and execution of the perimeter fence of the sports complex.
On June 19th, 20th and 21st, 2026, the club is organizing the 5th edition of the Bidoeira Kids Cup Tournament, where the presence of approximately 850 athletes from all the club's youth levels is expected. For this tournament, most of the repair work needs to be carried out to ensure the safety of all athletes and visitors during the tournament days.
