Storm Kristin devastated our dojo; we will rebuild it with 200 tatami mats, new plastrons and equipment, guaranteeing a month of free classes for all the new young people in the community. Support us and let's bring hope back to the tatami.

Storm Kristin unleashed a storm of destruction upon our club: shredded carpets, a flooded ring, broken mats, and completely damaged fitness equipment. Lis Tiger Club , a non-profit organization with over 30 years of history dedicated to the civic education of children, suddenly found itself without the essentials to continue offering Judo and kickboxing classes to local children.

Our mission has never changed: to use Judo as an educational tool – respect, discipline, self-control, and friendship – to transform lives. When time destroyed our space, the only thing left for us to do is rebuild, better and safer, so that no child misses the opportunity to experience the "gentle way" of Judo. We need €25,500 to buy 200 "puzzle" tatami mats (€40 each), 6 new plastrons (€550 each), 7 boxing bags (€350 each), as well as an elliptical bike, spinning bike, treadmill, desk, benches, chairs, and a new identification sign. Every euro will be used exclusively for the purchase of new equipment. A small reserve will cover transport, assembly, and safety equipment.

But this project goes beyond simply buying equipment. It's a guarantee that, within 90 days of the campaign's end , our dojo will reopen its doors with new mats, expanded training rooms with more equipment, and the possibility of continuing to offer a whole month of free classes to all young people who have never practiced Judo.

With this replacement, we guarantee:
Safety during training – proper mats and compliant ring structure.
Increased capacity – more class times and more students at the same time.
Free classes will be maintained for one month for all young people in the area who do not yet practice Judo.
Preserving the values of Judo – respect, discipline, self-control and friendship – are the pillars of children's civic education.

If you believe that a more united, healthier, and more disciplined community is worth building, join us. Your support transforms disaster into hope. Contribute now, share our story, and help us give children back the right to fall, get up, and grow with dignity. Together, we will revive our dojo – and with it, the strength of a generation.

“A judoka’s strength lies in lifting up those who fall. Let us be that strength for our community. Contribute now, share our story, and help us rebuild the dojo that creates a future for hundreds of children.”

I am Rui Dinis , founder and educational director of the Lis Tiger Club since 2006. Throughout three decades of teaching, I have dedicated myself to the holistic development of thousands of young people , combining the practice of Judo with the promotion of civic values – respect for parents, teachers, and peers.

I believe that the tatami is more than just a training space; it's the space where first greetings are born, where one learns to help up a fallen colleague, and where bonds of friendship are built that transcend the walls of the dojo. Therefore, when Hurricane Kristin destroyed a vital part of our infrastructure, I felt it as a deep wound in the heart of the community we serve.

My experience as a Judo Master (certified by the Portuguese Judo Federation) and as a civic educator in schools in the region allows me to lead this period of reconstruction with rigor, transparency and, above all, with the conviction that every euro raised will be transformed into real progress for the children.

I ask you to trust in our journey, to share our vision, and to join us in returning to the tatami the energy and hope that only Judo and Kickboxing can provide. Together, we make our dojo a meeting point of courage, respect, and community.
