Our container, essential for supporting technical teams and athletes, was the invisible heart of the club. It was destroyed by Storm Kristin. We urgently need to rebuild it to support those who represent us.

For years, our container was much more than just a simple structure.

It was an essential space for the daily operation of the technical teams and for providing direct support to the athletes. It was there that training sessions were planned, games were organized, strategies were prepared, and support was given to those who, on the field, represent the effort and dedication of an entire community.

Discreet, yet indispensable, it was the true backstage of everything that happens on the playing field.

Everything changed with the passage of Storm Kristin. The force of the storm left a trail of destruction—and our container didn't withstand it. It was completely destroyed.

From one moment to the next, we lost a fundamental point of support for our teams.

Today, we remain on the ground, but without the necessary conditions to work, prepare for games, and support the athletes as we always have. Without this structure, the day-to-day operations of the club are compromised, and the development of our teams is at risk.

About the author

The Unidos Sports, Recreation and Cultural Group, founded in 1964, is an institution rooted in the community and focused on promoting sport, culture and social interaction. For several decades, the club has played a consistent role in the sporting development of different generations, simultaneously functioning as a space for personal and collective growth. Its activity is not limited to the competitive aspect, also integrating a recreational and cultural dimension that strengthens the bonds between athletes, families and other members of the community.

Since its foundation, GDRC Unidos has been based on a logic of active and voluntary participation, supported by the contribution of leaders, coaches, and collaborators who, over time, have ensured the continuity and evolution of the project. This associative model has allowed the consolidation of a structure that prioritizes values such as discipline, respect, team spirit, and inclusion, elements that are reflected both in sporting performance and in the daily life of the club.

As a local organization with a well-established history, the Grupo Desportivo Recreativo e Cultural Unidos maintains a close connection to the territory in which it is located, contributing to social development and the creation of accessible opportunities for sports practice. Its longevity demonstrates an ability to adapt to different realities over time, maintaining as a common denominator a commitment to the community and to the promotion of sport as an instrument of social cohesion.

Budget and due dates

The reconstruction of the technical support area was designed to be simple, quick, and efficient, ensuring that our technical teams and athletes can return to their proper conditions as quickly as possible.

Project phases:

1. Acquisition of the container (Weeks 1–2)
Selecting a container that suits the club's needs, preparing the purchase, and organizing transportation to the site.

2. Setting up and preparing the space (Weeks 2–4)
Placing the container on the site, verifying safety conditions, and making the necessary adjustments for its operation.

3. Space Equipment (Weeks 4–5)
Acquisition of furniture and computer equipment, ensuring a functional space for the daily work of the technical teams.

4. Start of operations (Week 5)
Providing space to the teams and integrating them into the regular functioning of the club.

Total budget: €6,000

An essential investment to quickly restore the conditions for those who train, compete, and represent the club every day.
