The SCL Marrazes headquarters is more than just a building; it's a home, a place of affection, and a community. Storm Kristin destroyed part of this safe haven, and we need €85,000 to rebuild it. Help us return this space to our athletes and their families.

When a storm passes, it doesn't always just take away roofs or doors. Sometimes, it takes away routines, meetings, and the small gestures that give meaning to the days. That's what happened to Sport Clube Leiria e Marrazes. Storm Kristin hit our headquarters hard, destroying a fundamental part of a space that, for decades, has served much more than just football: it serves an entire community.

Our headquarters is where hundreds of young athletes gather, where lifelong friendships are formed, and where older people find a sense of belonging through the Senior University. It is the home of the Fencing Academy and the meeting point where families, coaches, and neighbors build something bigger than just sport. It is a common home that encompasses the dreams of children, the efforts of young people, and the wisdom of seniors.

An Urgent and Essential Reconstruction
Today, this building needs to be rebuilt. The restoration of the Social Headquarters is vital for the club to continue fulfilling its mission. We are not just talking about repairing material damage; we are talking about restoring dignity and security to a central space. We are talking about ensuring that more than 400 athletes continue to have a club that welcomes them and that the community does not lose one of its most vibrant places.

Our goal is to raise €85,000 to rebuild and renovate the Headquarters, restoring it to its necessary conditions to once again be a safe, functional, and welcoming space.

More than a Club, an Identity
SCL Marrazes is an institution with over a century of history, deeply rooted in Leiria. We are a network of relationships and community support that has taken decades to build. Therefore, this campaign is a call to remembrance and unity.

Every contribution will be a concrete gesture of reconstruction. By supporting, you will be helping to restore a place where education is given through sport, inclusion is promoted, and isolation is combated. Rebuilding the SCL Marrazes headquarters is rebuilding a living part of Leiria. It is ensuring that a child continues to have a dream and that a senior citizen continues to have companionship.

After the storm, we want to reopen the doors of our home. With your help, it will once again be a place of encounter, of future, and of full hearts.

Help us rebuild SCL Marrazes.

About the author

Sport Clube Leiria e Marrazes (SCLM) is a historic institution in Leiria, with over a century of deep connection to its community. Throughout its long history, the club has built much more than teams and results: it has erected a human, social and educational legacy that has marked generations of athletes and families in the region.

Rooted in local identity, SCLM is recognized for its strong commitment to developing young athletes. With over 400 registered athletes, it is one of the main pillars of sports practice and youth support in the region. However, its relevance transcends numbers. The club is a place of belonging and a true "school of life," where young people learn fundamental values: discipline, respect, team spirit, resilience, and a sense of community. For us, developing athletes is inseparable from developing citizens.

A Community Life Center
SCLM's mission has always extended beyond the four lines of the field. We are an intergenerational meeting point, where sport coexists with education and social interaction. Our headquarters is the ultimate symbol of this openness. More than just logistical support, it is a shared space that hosts the Senior University, the Fencing Academy, as well as meetings, training sessions, and social gatherings that bring together young people and seniors.

This emotional connection is our greatest asset. Many families have maintained a link to the club for generations — from athletes to coaches, from managers to grandparents of new players. SCLM is part of Leiria's collective memory.

The Challenge: Rebuilding After the Storm - Kristin
This community heritage was severely damaged by Storm Kristin. The destruction at the Sports Village and the Social Headquarters affected critical infrastructure, compromising our ability to serve the community with the same quality and safety as always.

It is in this context that this campaign arises. Rebuilding the headquarters is not just about restoring a building; it is about protecting a mission that belongs to everyone. It is about ensuring that children continue to dream, that young people continue to grow with values, and that seniors maintain their space of dignity and conviviality.

Sport Clube Leiria e Marrazes is the guardian of history and a driver of the future. We ask for your support to rebuild not just walls, but a space of hope and training. For the past, for the present, and above all, for future generations.
