Storm Kristin destroyed the Vale da Pedra Picnic Park and the Carpalhosas Route — the only gathering space in our community. We want to rebuild it and restore a safe place for children, the elderly, and families.
The intention is to launch a crowdfunding campaign through the PPL platform, with the goal of raising funds for the rehabilitation of the Vale da Pedra Picnic Park, severely affected by Storm Kristin, and the Carpalhosas Route, a 15km walking trail through nature, next to the river.
This campaign will focus on mobilizing the local community, as well as raising awareness among the general public about the importance of this space as an intergenerational meeting point and a way to combat social isolation, and of the route as a space for sports and leisure.
Through clear and emotional communication, supported by visual content and real testimonials, the campaign will seek to generate engagement and a sense of belonging, encouraging the active participation of citizens.
Symbolic rewards will be offered to supporters as a way of recognizing and valuing their contribution, strengthening the connection between the community and the rehabilitated space.
In addition to fundraising, the campaign will allow us to validate public interest and strengthen local partnerships, contributing to the future sustainability of the project.
The campaign serves not only to raise funds, but also to involve the community and ensure the sustainability of the project.

About the author
The promoter of this project is ARCV – Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Vales, a local non-profit organization that works to promote social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities in the community.
With strong ties to the territory and its community, the association has developed initiatives that promote intergenerational interaction, the well-being of the population, and the fight against social isolation, through numerous activities.
ARCV stands out for its knowledge of local needs and its close relationship with beneficiaries, playing a key role in identifying problems and implementing solutions with a direct impact on the community.
In this project, we want to demonstrate our capacity for mobilization, organization, and commitment, making us the ideal agent to lead the rehabilitation of the Vale da Pedra Picnic Park and its Route.
Budget and due dates
We will begin the activity at the start of spring, when the weather conditions are better. The works will last until mid-July, with a target completion date of July 31st.
1. Infrastructure and safety (essential): Earthworks → €600; Staircase repair → €1,200; Pathway repair → €3,800; Curbs → €1,200. The objective: to make the space safe and accessible.
2. Electricity and lighting: Electrical repair → €4,500; Lamp repair → €5,400. Objective: to guarantee safety and use of the space at night.
3. Repair of existing structures: Roofs → €3,000; Playground → €2,500; Barbecues → €1,000. The objective: to recover infrastructure destroyed by the storm.
4. Requalification and environment: Trees → €2,400; Pergolas → €1,500; Waterfall → €600; Decorative bridge → €2,606. The objective: to make the space pleasant and sustainable.
5. Equipment and furniture: Garden tables → €3,920; Benches → €720; Porticos → €1,800; Placards → €700; Signage → €550. Objective : to improve the comfort and organization of the space.
6. Social equipment: Senior exercise equipment → €8,100. Objective : to promote health and combat isolation among the elderly.
