GARECUS has always been more than just an association. It's a meeting point, a place for socializing, sports, and identity for our community.
It is in our pavilion that we train, compete, grow, and experience unforgettable moments on and off the field. Unfortunately, the recent passage of Storm Kristin caused serious damage to our pavilion, tearing off part of the roof and leaving us, overnight, without a home. The space where we play futsal, where we welcome athletes, fans, and families, has become unusable.
Currently, our senior futsal team competes in the Leiria District First Division and is contesting the championship this season. Despite the difficulties, the desire to continue is greater than ever. However, without our pavilion, it becomes extremely difficult to maintain sporting and associative activities.
This crowdfunding campaign was born with a simple yet meaningful motto: All the support raised will be used for:
Urgent repairs to the pavilion roof; Restoring minimum safety conditions; Allowing athletes, coaches, and members to return to their space.
Every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, is a step towards reopening our doors, playing at home, and continuing to represent Santiais with pride.

1. Sports Activity
The association is widely known for its Futsal team, having participated for 22 years in championships organized by the Leiria Football Association (AF Leiria), both in senior and youth categories. It also provides the public with a gym, thus promoting physical and mental well-being.
2. Cultural and Social Activity
As the name itself indicates ("Recreational and Cultural Action"), its mission goes beyond sports: It organizes local festivities, community events, and activities aimed at combating social isolation and keeping village traditions alive.
Recently, the association has been working on a project to transform the old primary school in Santiais into an interpretive center for resin production, aiming to preserve the historical memory of an economic activity that is fundamental to the Pombal region.
Implicit motto: Associativism as a form of local development and promotion of social well-being.
Budget and due dates
The funds raised will be entirely applied to the reconstruction of the roof of the Garecus pavilion, including materials, labor, and any additional structural repairs.
The intervention will begin as soon as the financial conditions are met, and is expected to last 4 to 8 weeks.
Throughout the process, regular updates will be shared to ensure transparency and build trust with supporters.
