Reconstruir a Região Centro Juntos!

The storm destroyed our roof — but we will rise again.

Without this intervention, we risk losing an essential element for the preservation of our cultural heritage.

Without this intervention, we risk losing an essential element for the preservation of our cultural heritage.

For 48 years, the Rancho de Conqueiros has kept alive the folklore tradition of the Leiria – Alta Estremadura region, through its dances, music and costumes.

Our headquarters is the heart of this mission — it's where we rehearse, socialize, and pass on to new generations the love for our culture.

Recently, Hurricane Catrine caused significant damage to the roof of our headquarters.
The leaks and damage have left the space vulnerable, and at this point, we no longer have safe conditions to continue our activities.

Without urgent intervention, we risk losing not only a building, but a space for meeting, learning, and cultural preservation with almost half a century of history.

About the author

The Rancho Folclórico Juventude Amiga de Conqueiros began its activities on October 7, 1977. It is part of AFRLAE (Association of Folkloric Groups of Leiria Alta Estremadura), the National Federation of Portuguese Folklore, and INATEL. Since its creation, the Rancho Folclórico Juventude Amiga de Conqueiros has taken its costumes, dances, songs, and all the traditions of the folklore of the Leiria region, from north to south of Portugal. From 1974 to 1984, performances were held in Conqueiros and surrounding areas. After that date, it began to expand its range of performances from north to south of Portugal and beyond, including in Paris (1993), New Jersey (USA) (2004), and the International Folklore Festival in Cahul, Moldova (2019). Since its foundation, it has also held a folklore festival every year around its anniversary.

This ranch is not just a folk group — it's history, culture, friendship, and community. Now we need everyone's help.

Budget and due dates

We need to raise €45,000.00 to rebuild the roof and restore safety and dignity to our headquarters.

Work to be completed by June 30, 2026.
