We need help to get our club back on track! The recent storm caused extensive damage to the club's brand-new building, destroying part of the roof. With the right wind, we will make it!
After many years of collective effort and community involvement, GDR Boavista achieved a dream: the construction of a new building with 6 changing rooms , club headquarters, and a social area – a milestone any association aspires to. In September 2025, we finally opened the doors of this space to our greatest asset: our people. More than 200 athletes, around 600 members, and all the club's friends. Excellent conditions were created, recognized and admired by many in our municipality, for sports practice and community gathering. However, at the end of January 2026, the now-famous Storm Kristin hit the region and caused serious damage to our recent infrastructure. A significant part of the roof was destroyed, allowing heavy rainwater to enter the building, compromising its interior and rendering it unusable. Furthermore, the photovoltaic panels for water heating were torn off by the intense gusts of wind. The modular building that served as logistical support was also drastically affected. We want to give back to our community the conditions we have achieved, but also take advantage of this "wind" to make the club even stronger and more dynamic. More and more athletes want to be part of this group, which, for us, the management, is the greatest recognition for the work, dedication and ambition shown over many years. To continue growing and serving the population of our parish is, and always will be, our true objective. Fortunately, the playing field was not greatly affected; only the fence suffered some damage, which allows for sports practice, but we cannot use part of the changing rooms when it rains.
The main objective of this campaign is to mobilize everyone to act, rebuild, and revitalize. A new building with new materials and equipment cannot be allowed to deteriorate already, as it hasn't even been 5 months since it began being used.
