Since December 31, the coronavirus has infected thousands of people, put countries on alert and Portugal was no exception. The pandemic has completely altered our daily routines, since the last few weeks have required the community to adapt quickly to appeal to our civic duty, commitment to public health and the safety of all.

Since this invisible enemy has hit our country, the Government, the National Authorities and Health Professionals have had no hands in measuring the fight against this threat. Currently, Health Professionals are still faced with another problem, the scarcity of resources for the prevention and treatment of the disease.

“Doing more” consists of a support fund (crowdfunding) that aims to acquire individual protection material for Hospital Centers in the Centro Region, in an attempt to assist our Health Professionals in preventing and fighting the virus.

In this sense, we challenge the entire population to contribute to the refurbishment of Hospitals in the Central Region, so that in this way we can “Do more, for everyone!”.

Aware of the exceptional moment that the country is going through, and of the social responsibility that is inherent to all of us, AAUBI, Academic Association of the University of Beira Interior, the Hospital and University Center of Cova da Beira, the Hospital and University Center of Coimbra, a Fundão City Council, the University of Beira Interior, STAR Junior Enterprise, Black Sheep Retail Products, WD Retail and WD Design joined forces and developed a solidarity project that they called “Doing more”.

Budget and due dates

Despite the money raised being for protective masks, disinfectant, gloves and other personal protection objects, the focus of this campaign is to produce protective visors for health professionals. With 5000 € you can buy 1500 visors, however, the total amount will be shared by other equipment mentioned above.

PPL is not charging any fees for this campaign except for the payment costs
