Fundraising for the purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure the safety of health professionals at Hospital Pedro Hispano (Matosinhos)
Did you know that on April 5, 2020 there were already 1332 health professionals infected with COVID-19 in Portugal?
The lack of adequate equipment is one of the main reasons for infection by health professionals.
One of the fundamental equipments to protect doctors, nurses and medical assistants from being contaminated are head and neck protection masks.
Do you know what a COGULA is?
It is a disposable device used to protect the head and shoulders area.
In the intermediate and intensive care units of the Pedro Hispano Hospital, for the protection of health professionals who deal with COVID-19 patients on a daily basis, approximately 60 head and neck protection masks are needed, which can only be used once.
This crowdfunding is aimed at raising funds to purchase missing personal protective equipment for health professionals at Pedro Hispano Hospital, whose area of influence includes Matosinhos, Vila do Conde and Póvoa do Varzim, covering a total 320 thousand inhabitants.
What is the destination for your contribution?
All funds raised will be used for the purchase of personal protective equipment.
A contribution of 25 euros allows you to purchase head and neck masks to protect a health professional for about a week.

We are a group of parents from Colégio EFANOR (in Matosinhos), which includes some health professionals from Pedro Hispano Hospital, and who have been sharing their concern about the increased and essential equipment needs since the beginning of the pandemic. individual protection. We believe in the positive impact that each individual's action can have in combating this pandemic, and that indifference cannot be the answer to a battle in which we are all called to make our contribution.

None of the campaign's promoters will have any kind of financial or non-financial retribution. All money raised will be used to purchase personal protective equipment. The purchase and distribution process of the purchased material will be disclosed on the PPL platform, as well as through the channels and social media accounts created for this purpose.
Budget and due dates
The total amount raised will go towards the purchase of personal protective equipment for health professionals at Hospital Pedro Hispano in Matosinhos. With the 5,000 euros raised, 1,500 pieces will be purchased - the amount needed to cover the needs of this material for about 25 days.
We are in contact with a supplier that has head and neck masks for immediate delivery.
Deliveries will be phased, with a first delivery of 200 masks expected during the first week of the campaign. The remaining deliveries will be scheduled according to the funds raised and the supplier's availability.
The material will be delivered directly by the supplier to Hospital Pedro Hispano.
PPL is not charging any fees for this campaign except for the payment costs
