Mara - album edition

The goal of this project is the edition of Mara’s debut album - "Folha de Rosto"

In this work, each song tells a story as hymn to life and a highlight of a dream. The whiff  between Flamenco and Portuguese guitars becomes a musical hybrid in which Mara’s voice sprouts over the harmony. We here found a harbour for music that aspires to transcend its own musicality which goes beyond Fado. It is in fact a culture that absorbs multiple roots of the Iberian music.

The edition of this album - "Folha de Rosto" is not only a dream to become realized. It is the materialization of the work we have done so far. Original compositions, professional musicians who are also friends, and other friends who also believe in this project and together with Mara brought this project to its final shape... All compositions are recorded and ready to be copied.

We just need the album to be edited so we can share it... So why not to help us?

About the author

Mara music is inspired by Fado, Alentejo, Cante, the Portuguese music. It is influenced by the traditions from Portugal and from abroad.

For her debut album Mara gathered Carlos Menezes (Bass and double bass), Daniel da Silva (flamenco guitar), Henrique Leitao (Portuguese guitar), Rui Gonçalves (percussion), and also had the special participation of Custódio Castelo.

From her latest musical journey stands out the project with the Portuguese pianist Amilcar Vasques-Dias, the live performance at Festival Bons Sons, the invitation and participation in the concerts of Ronda dos Quatro Caminhos, the concert with Duarte and, most recently, the nomination for the Music Category’s prize in the 2014 awards of the Portuguese magazine Mais Alentejo.
