Cancer with Humor is the first book of Marine Antunes, a book with humor, joy, and hope about her cancer experience. The purpose of the book is to teach the cancer patients, their families and friends how to deal with the disease, to better overcome it.

In 2013 Livros de Ontem publisher brings you a new book. Such book asks for something special.

That's why we thought sharing this important moment with those who need the most... of smiles.

Cancer with Humor is the first book of Marine Antunes, a book with humor, joy, and hope.

We want you to become a part of this project, to get engaged with this book and help us publishing it. Cancer can appear when you least expect to those who have never expected it. So, all of us, citizens, are the one’s responsable to take an active part in the fight against this disease and it is essential to learn how to deal with it.

That is the purpose of the book Cancer with Humor, to teach the cancer patients, their families and friends how to deal with the disease, to better overcome it.

We propose you to get to know the testimony of the writer Marine Antunes and learn from it.

With a light and humorous sense, Marine Antunes tells us  her experience as being a cancer patient and explains what weapons she used to defeat the disease. An exciting book that will touch the soul of all of you who have dealt closely with cancer.

The book Cancer with Humor will be available in the following formats: e-book, audiobook and print.

The first edition will be a special one, unique, in a 500 numbered copy edition.

Cancer with Humor is a supportive book:

For each contribution received in crowdfunding, Livros de Ontem publisher will donate a motivational postcartd to a hospitalized cancer patient.

For each book sold, Livros de Ontem publisher will donate € 1 to the Associação Portuguesa de Apoio à Mulher com Cancro da Mama.

The raised contributions will be distributed in partnership with the Palhaços d'Opital that will help us cheer up an afternoon with cancer patients.

About the author

Born in France, with Portuguese nationality, in 1990. Graduated in Social Communication and specialized in humorous writing and stand-up comedy. It was when she was thirteen years that she was diagnosed with lymphoma, an event that would change her life for good.

Overtaken the disease, Marine dedicated her life and career helping other cancer patients. Created the project Cancer with Humor, Movimento Careca Power and the Associação Cancro com Humor, a nonprofit association. Its activity is developed with lectures, a blog, a non-therapeutic group, and now with a book.

Through humor, Marine seeks to demystify cancer because she believes that the disease can be defeated trough smiling and humor as an ally of chemotherapy.

Budget and due dates

Todas as outras despesas são suportadas pela Livros de Ontem. O lançamento público do livro será feito após as recompensas terem sido enviadas. Após o lançamento serão feitos várias apresentações em todo o país onde se conta escoar a totalidade dos livros.
