The goal is to equip the Coimbra Volunteer Firefighters with the necessary equipment to intervene in extreme scenarios like those we have recently experienced. Protecting our firefighters and acquiring the necessary resources for these situations is essential.
The Coimbra Volunteer Firefighters responded to more than 250 incidents during Storm Kristin and the events that followed.
The most frequent incidents in our municipality were of various types, including: falling trees and structures, landslides, floods, and others. Equipping the fire department with the necessary equipment to respond to these types of incidents is essential, not only because of the specific nature of the events, but also because of the increase in these extreme weather phenomena, where immediate response to the population is limited due to a lack of technical resources.
