"The feminine universe of António Aurélio Gonçalves" is the journalist's and television presenter Maria João Gama first published book.

Through an essay, the author discusses the work of the Cape Verdean writer António Aurélio Gonçalves, exploring it from the perspective of female characters of writer's novels. A thorough and objective analysis that gives special attention to the social aspects of the life of the characters and addresses issues such as insularity, loneliness, prostitution and male infidelity.

About the author

Maria João Gama is a journalist, teacher and Portuguese writer.

She graduated in Modern Languages and Literature, Faculty of Arts, University of Lisbon, where later obtained a master's degree in African Literature of Portuguese Expression, with the thesis in The feminine universe of António Aurélio Gonçalves.

This thesis with the same title, was later published in book, by the Instituto Camões, on the island of Santiago and S. Vicente in Cape Verde.

Budget and due dates

After financing the book, the amount raised will be fully ducted by the publisher for printing the books. Supporters will be contacted by the publisher after the end of the campaign for the names to be mentioned in the acknowledgments and delivery address for the rewards.
