Livros de Ontem publisher is pleased to present "The lion was afraid of the dark," a children's story written by Raquel Santos and illustrated by Mafalda Azevedo.

Synopsis

The lion was afraid of the dark is a fable about the most prevalent and decisive sense in humanity: fear. This is an ambiguous emotion and necessary, since the limited while preserving our physical and psychological. Then we, educators, teach to deal with the fears and overcome them.

The bullying and all its collateral damage, either the victims or the perpetrator, originates in fear. The fear of not being accepted, the fear of being attacked ... and many others.

In this tale, a small group of animals is a unique and fun way to overcome a harrowing bullying scenario. Anxiety, self-overcoming, courage, creativity, acceptance and friendship matters are worked throughout the narrative.

The idea that if you want to pass is that through dialogue and unity all problems are surmountable!

About the author

Raquel Santos is 34 years old and was born in Porto. Degree in Psychosocial and Counseling Psychology and graduated post in Counseling Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counseling. As part of its training, she pursued his professional activity in the field of community psychology and risk intervention, working with young people, older people and sex workers. Currently lives and works away from psychology, regarding the query context or direct intervention with the patient, but this remains his passion and is reflected in all personal and professional fields in which it operates. "The lion was afraid of the dark" I was born about 8 years ago, one of the many nights he "invented" stories to his eldest son. Tales that arose from the ever-present need to educate for citizenship, respect for others and help in emotional self-regulation of children. In this fable, fear, bullying and self overcome are covered, among many other crucial issues that arise throughout the book.
