An illustrated book about the culture of Japan in Portuguese.
"Um Ano de Japão” (A Year of Japan) covers themes on pop culture such as video games, cosplay and robots, which make up the modern times, as well as the traditions of tea ceremony, kimono, onsen and spirituality. The book shows a unique and fascinating Japan that follows the seasons with its celebrations and seasonal events.
The text and illustrations of “Um Ano de Japão” reflect the spirit of this culture through folklore, customs and contemporary lifestyle throughout an year. It also addresses the influence of Portuguese left back centuries ago and the Nanban culture.
You've probably heard about the famous sakura viewings in the spring. But do you know how the Japanese celebrate the summer, autumn and winter? What about Shogatsu?
Get to know the Obon rituals, the arts and sports.
Find more about the Japanese cuisine, which is filled with authentic umami flavors and known for its unique presentation.
This book is for everyone!
For those curious, fascinated, geeks, otaku, gamers, technology fans, and lovers of tradition, beauty, aesthetics… in short, anyone interested in the Japan world.
"A Year of Japan'' can also be useful as a guide for those who wish to travel around Japan and integrate amongst locals as it covers manners when going to an onsen, riding the train, how to use chopsticks, and what to expect of Japanese hospitality, etc.
We launched this campaign on the 27th of September and within our initial target for the first week, so we are grateful! For support, interest, curiosity and affection.
So we move on to the second phase of the campaign. When it reaches 2000 euros, it can print 100 copies of the book and reach more people. If it exceeds, the remaining amount raised in addition to the objective expenses will be channeled to more copies and/or related.
