"Gémeos", a book with over one hundred short stories by Claudio Hochman (some real, some fictional) which expose relationships, ties and identities, illustrated by Beatriz Bagulho’s precious drawings.
I have six published books – editors published five of them, while the latest one, “Ilhas”, was an entirely independent project.
I want to repeat this extremely satisfying experience. Though I like to see my writings published by editors, the truth is than an author, especially if not well-known, does not profit enough in this industry. I don’t intend to capitalize books, but rather to find alternatives to the system, to reinvent a straight communication with the reader without the need of distributors or bookshops… I intend to create a tighter bridge between the author and the readers.
When I discovered PPL, I immediately thought it could be the best way to keep working independently and to call not only on those who already read my books, but also on new prying eyes, to make “Gémeos” happen!
What is “Gémeos” all about?
It is a collection of short stories, some real, some fictional, where twins are the main characters. They are the starting point to jump into issues such as human relationships, ties and identities.
What would happen if some day we walked down the street and met someone fully identical to us?
Did you know, for instance, that twins have their own private language?
Secret twins’ societies exists, some may say…
Some twins feel each other pain, even when thousand miles apart.
Your help is extremely important to us! As return, you will get a signed book (with a discount) and you will be mentioned in the book's acknowledgement section.
“Gémeos” is not just a book to read, it is also an object. It is one of those books you just want to hold and leaf through, since it can be read from multiples fronts and through multiples paths.
We want to publish 400 samples with 160 semi-matt glazed paper pages (150 grams), in 20 cm x 20 cm format and printed in four colours!
It will be wonderful!
