CONTEXT

On March 21, 2022 I received an invitation from a publisher to write my first book.

I was ecstatic!

I always knew I wanted to write, but I had never seriously considered accomplishing this short-term goal. I work as a full-time engineer, but I have a plan in place to reach financial independence in 2030. My plans were to write the first book after that date, when I had full availability to do so.

This invitation was the necessary push to accelerate the dream and start living the life I envisioned for myself today . It is happening! 🔥

THE BOOK: "FIRE - THE PATH TO FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE"

In 2020 I started publicly sharing my journey to FIRE - financial independence and early retirement. This has become my main goal in life and the theme to which I dedicate most of my free time.

This book condenses everything I learned along the way. The first part describes the theory needed to organize personal finance and understand the core concepts of the FIRE movement. The second part presents a practical plan to achieve financial independence: the real step by step that allows to reach this ambitious goal.

This is the book I wish I had read at the beginning of my journey. It condenses all relevant information for any aspirant to financial independence.

OBJECTIVE OF THE RAISING

The publication format with this publisher implies that you make an initial investment of €2,500 + VAT (€3,075), to cover the costs associated with the development (revision, design, pagination) and printing of the first copies.

The first €1537.50 were paid when the contract was signed in April 2022.

Through this initiative, I intend to raise at least the amount corresponding to the second installment of the cost of publishing the book, now paid upon publication - €1537.50. The amount is slightly higher - 1695 € - to also cover the fees for using this platform.

The idea is not to collect donations (although you can do so, if you so choose), but rather to do a kind of advance sale of the book with some special treats, under conditions that will never exist again.

Budget and due dates

BUDGET - €3,825

1. Publication contract: €3,075
2. Price of books to be sent: €500 (estimated sale of 50 copies, costing the author €10)
3. Mug design: €25
4. Printing of 50 mugs: €225

On this platform, if the necessary amount of funding is not reached, the initiative is annulled. Therefore, I choose to use a considerably lower value as a goal - € 1 695 -, hoping to close the fundraising process. There is no problem with exceeding the initially requested amount.
