Production of Protection Visors - CoVid-19 EN

The lack of personal protective equipment has led to the creation of several projects across the country. We want to help produce protective visors for Castelo Branco.

Appeals began to arrive from various institutions, retirement homes and other IPSS's, small businesses among others.

To help, we want to join all the teams of makers in Portugal and produce individual protection visors. If you are at home and have a 3D printer you can also help, as long as the printer has dimensions where the display can fit, there are several models available.

The fund raising reverts to the purchase of an original Prusa i3 Mk3S 3D printer and consumables necessary for the production of protection visors for Castelo Branco, Portugal. An action of high importance in supporting the professionals of all institutions.

If everyone who can donate, no matter how small, we can make a difference and help to save many lives and protect our community and loved ones.

With the increase of confirmed cases in our country, the lack of individual protection material for those in the front line of the fight against this pandemic is emerging.

By supporting this campaign, you are helping to equip AIDICB (non-profit association) to support those in the front line, exposed daily to risk situations!

The visors we produce help to prevent contagion not only from professionals, users and patients who are at higher risk.

About the author

The Association for Innovation, Development and Research of Castelo Branco, is legally constituted as a non-profit association. We count on a group of multidisciplinary volunteers committed to achieve the common objectives that the association proposes.

None of AIDICB's elements any financial return from the project and the whole amount raised will be applied, in full, to the production of visors and other material that is considered necessary.

Budget and due dates

For the production of the visors, these materials are fundamental:

• 3D Printer Original Prusa i3 Mk3S - 769.00 € Warranty: 3 years
• Filament PETG Pruse 5kg - 149,95 €
• Transport - € 16.63
• Transparent A4 PVC Acetate - 60.66 €
• 7mm white elastic tape (25meter) - 6,25 €

Any amount raised, after reaching the objective, will be applied to the purchase of these materials and applied to the production of personal protective equipment (PPE). The amount presented here is the basis for starting to respond to requests.

Schedule: According to official information from Prusa the deliveries are taking 4-5 weeks. This allows us to develop the bell tower, collect the value and receive the materials as soon as possible.

PPL is not charging any fees for this campaign except for the payment costs
