Starting a project with a shop, a workshop and a library.
This is a project based on social entrepreneurship, concerned with the improvement of the quality of less fortunate citizens' living conditions. It will have a workshop, where unemployed and retired people will have the opportunity to transform, recycle and reuse materials, clothes, furniture, toys, among others, bearing in mind the importance of an environmental awareness.
The shop will have these and other items, available at low prices, to make this project also economically sustainable. It will have other items too, from designers and craftsmen who want to cooperate, as well as antiques and collectables, such as vinyl records.
Bord'arte, an art craft based on souvenirs of our island for tourists and home decoration, which I make, will have all the items for sale to help this project.
The library corner will be used to change school manuals and other books and it will also be possible to do cross booking. Its main goal will be to have volunteer teachers to motive young people to read and remain in school.
The volunteers' time will be created so that they can be able to feel more autonomous and worthy , as they can use their time in exchange of items they need from the shop. Its' also important to create more solutions and reduce the economic problems of many citizens.
The planning of many events and activities will allow more people to be helped, fighting an ashamed poverty, as anyone will be able to buy what they need in the shop. It will also be crucial to work together with other institutions in collecting donations and sharing them with the most need ones.
A cooperative system will be used in order to create a clear vision of the donations, so that everyone knows what for they will be used for and who will benefit from them.
In all, the college students with low income were taken into consideration to be helped, through the volunteers' time or the workshop, so they can finish their higher education.
