We created a documentary photographic record of the two saints of the city of Lisbon. The best gift a book can give us is the inner journey it gives us. Let's build this project together!
In Lisbon it is possible to find marks of the presence of the two saints, the photographic project Vicente e António, intended to contribute to the rescue of this presence through photography. The project was produced by a group of 7 photographers who, by making use of the documentary aspect of photography as a recording technique, traveled through the places that still preserve traces of the passage of Saints, in a record of the cultural and religious heritage of the city.
It was in the search for a connection between the two saints and the population of Lisbon that the project was focused and which resulted in the book on the places and stages of the lives of the two saints, in which, in addition to the images of the photographers, there are testimonies, images , the moments of connection to the two saints by those who shared their testimony with us.
Starting from the project conceived by each participating photographer, the Vicente e António project proposed, through the debate of images and contents, to stimulate the creative sense and sought to build a possible – but guaranteed incomplete – portrait of the passage of the two saints in Lisbon through a documentary photographic look.
