We are creating a didactic project and we need a greenhouse and add new raised beds for our vegetable garden
There is something unique about growing our own food. Sow a seed in the ground and from that moment on, never lower your arms. It's like having a child! You need to cherish, water, nourish, snuggle.
And that's what we want to do, but we need help to continue building our garden so that we can soon, this coming Spring, teach you how to do the same, through educational and recreational visits that we will promote so that you can learn about our methods of regenerative agriculture based on Permaculture principles. We want to show you that we can become more producers and less consumers.
We need to buy a greenhouse made of aluminum and polycarbonate, which are more resistant materials, because the one we bought last year was very fragile and the sun and wind did not let up. This year we are having difficulties in doing our sowing.
We also need to increase the number of our raised beds, where we can work the soil more efficiently in regenerative terms.

Cristina & Luis
When they decided to move to Alentejo, they knew it wasn't going to be easy, in the middle of the pandemic they gathered all the change they had, they did business with Cristina's father and they stayed with Tapada do Mato. Bought in 1977, the year they were born, Tapada do Mato has been Cristina's father's refuge all these years. First, with only about 160 olive trees from which he extracted oil and then later, already renovated, he created a summer vegetable garden and a winter vegetable garden... of land in the protected area of Serra de São Mamede near Castelo de Vide.
Cristina and Luis both have degrees in Communication Design from the Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão de Portalegre. When they finished the course in 2003, Cristina dedicated herself to Webdesign and Luis to Graphic Design. Cristina later decided to complement her profession with a professional photography course that she attended at the Portuguese Institute of Photography in Porto and dedicated herself exclusively, for the past 13 years, to Gastronomic Photography and Food Styling, with clients in this industry all over the world. country, from supermarkets to restaurants and hotels. Luis, after starting as an intern and ending up as managing partner of an advertising agency in Porto, becomes a freelancer and in recent years has been working with his own clients from Switzerland to Angola, all from home. With a portfolio dedicated to Branding for almost 20 years, with +700 logos in the portfolio.
The little bug was already there from her father, but it was when they lived in Figueira da Foz that Cristina realized that growing her own food was the way to a happier life. Difficult decisions to make that were driven by the pandemic. Working from home is not a problem for Luis, and Cristina, despite the pandemic having affected her profession, travels to the other side of the country without any problem for photo shoots.
They want to show everyone that it is possible to move to the countryside and gain quality of life. That it is possible to live and eat what they grow, but above all to have a life in connection with Nature, taking advantage of what it gives us and sometimes what it takes away from us. They want to shout it out to the world in an uncomplicated way, the simple life they live and share everything they've learned.
...because, gratitude is the open door to abundance.
