Fundraising campaign for designing the launch video clip for Self Assistance's Album Sky Dog Floating in a World of Impossible Color Combinations The creative work will be in charge of the director Hugo França.
In a pandemic context that causes tremendous difficulties for society in general, there are sectors that face increased challenges. One of those sectors is, precisely, culture.
Nevertheless, it is up to the cultural agents to reinvent themselves, making use of the creativity that characterizes them to find solutions to, in a sustained way, continue to produce content.
It's in this sense that we count on your contribution, and any fraction is welcome! Thanks!
The goal is to produce a video clip that demonstrates the band's blues and rock essences. Similarly, the audiovisual work will show the director's creative traits and specificities, in a symbiosis between music and image. Cinematography will refer to the aesthetics of the 60s and 70s, the contemporary height of the greatest references of the band and director.
About the author
SELF ASSISTANCE is a Blues / Rock band, based in the Azores, more specifically in São Miguel. The band owes its influences on the big names of Classic Blues and Rock, that dwelve from the Mississippi delta (like Jimmy Reed or Mississippi Fred Mcdowell), to the lands of His Majesty (like Led Zeppelin or Cream). They dedicate themselves from the first minute to the production of original music. The band, which already has some years in its legs, registers in its portfolio performances in the famous Optimus Alive 2011, Monte Verde Festival 2012 or Santa Maria Blues and Festival Azure in 2013.
Hugo França is a director and freelance photographer based in the Azores. He studied at Restart - Instituto de Criatividade e Novas Tecnologias and has in his curriculum the production of a vast number of audiovisual works.
