Three authors and friends combined their knowledge and experiences in a project consisting in a compilation of texts written by Ana Saldanha and illustrated by Irene Sa and by Raquel Pedro (with a preface written by Miguel Urbano Rodrigues).
"The excitement of the departure; the apprehension of the arrival": thus begins the six hands work FEELING GEOGRAPHIES: Chronicles of the Amazon and Caribbean region.
In September 2009, Ana travels to French Guiana for the first time and, on arrival, starts a journal that would function as a set of chronicles, some of it published in several electronic pages.
The project titled Feeling Geographies is a compilation of travel stories and experiences of Ana, in South America, with Irene and Rachel illustrations. These illustrations are an interpretation, a detached view of the facts and an approach to places never visited by Irene or by Raquel.
This project represents a path of three years of sharing.
It may seem strange to the reader that the final text of this work dates from 2015. This was due to various disagreements, many of them conditioned by geography, as well as the construction of the creative process itself, which has required discussions, meetings, conversations. After agreements and disagreements, we finally can present you this creative project.
