The movement " WITH Reduced Mobility, WITHOUT barriers in festivals " has the goal to reach out to the activity related to the mission of APORFEST - Portuguese Music Festivals Association .
The project “WITH disabled access, WITHOUT barriers in festivals” has the intention of meeting the dynamics bonded to social responsibility and the mission of APORFEST – Portuguese Association of Music Festivals. The project was born aiming to support Portuguese music festivals (in 2014, 150 music festivals were counted), among these are the small and medium size festivals struggling many times to raise funds, sponsors and dealing with budgetary constraints. In this background the investment in infra structures and conditions for deaf and disabled people becomes a minor concern by virtue of low attendance, promoters usually find a last minute solution that is never satisfactory. Still we are noticing promoters with a growing concern wanting to give the same conditions to disabled people.
In APORFEST team there’s a disabled person that maybe is the biggest festivalgoer of us, which make us face this issue in a very special way – interested, focused and actively. We have already promoted conferences about the subject where we gathered promoters, physiatrists and artists creating an integrated vision of this issue. The goal is now to financially optimize infrastructures in Portuguese music festivals for deaf and disabled people.
If we’re able to implement this project we’ll locate the whole amount until the beginning of July to create conditions and infra-structures (e.g. platforms; wc; stages; security) to disabled festivalgoers, divided into three associate festivals of APORFEST equally (modalities: professional and corporate).
Any person individually or collectively can help this movement.

Budget and due dates
This movement was thought to intercede among festivals and to support them impartially, namely the small and medium size festivals with less capacity to obtain income and to channel it into conditions and infra-structure for deaf and disabled people. APORFEST will cover through our team work all the logistics and communication, online and printed, (e.g. banners, flyers, press releases). In other events – band contests, festivals or exhibitions – APORFEST will also be gathering funds to the movement.
Indirectly we’re looking to raise more associates and also media exposure with this action.
All the revenue (after the deduction of commission by PPL platform) will be given to the festivals that submitted their application (a newsletter will be sent to associates and interested festivals). APORFEST will justify the located amounts and festivals will also have to prove the use of the amounts given to them.
