Sebas is an online platform, made by students and for students, aimed for sharing academic contents. Sebas mission is to disseminate knowledge from a sharing standpoint and mutual support; encourage good practices regarding studying; be a reference, supporting university students.

The Idea:

In Portugal there are about 400 000 university students. All over the world the number can exceeds 150 million.

If 10% of these students produce study materials, there are about 15 million documents, each year, for a given discipline. If a particular course has, on average, 9 subjects per year, there are 135 million documents to be created every year, and that the utility will be lost at the end of this year.

Students who create them can monetize them? Can.

It remains 90%, that do not create content and will therefore benefit from this production while those creating them gets rewards for sharing them.

 Imagine what if a learner, student of Computer Engineering from Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon could have access to abstracts and class notes created by a student from the same course/subject at MIT?

Thomas Carlyle once said: "Man is a tool-using animal. Without tools he is nothing, with tools he is all.” We believe that a student with the right tools, can be everything.

The Project:

Sebas is the project that puts into practice the usefulness of an academic community. Through an online platform, we enable any Portuguese student to share or download college documents. This campaign aims to extend this capability. Sebas aims to become global.

Our vision is to create the largest database of academic content and make it accessible to everyone, anywhere in the globe.

 So, we need to create a platform that can be used on any continent, in any university and by any student, allowing:

- Sharing of summaries and class notes;

- Sharing of tests and corrections;

- Tips from students and even university professors.

Our mission:

- disseminate knowledge from a sharing standpoint and mutual support

- encourage good practices regarding studying; be a reference

Fostering and creating a mutual sharing site where students from around the world collaborate to the success of their colleagues, we aim:

- Show to each and every student a world where there is a true academic community, not from an individualistic perspective;

- Give meaning to the place where many of us learn, make friends, have fun, help each other, grow and prepare to face the job market.

Budget and due dates
