Rosalinda, The Environmentalist Sea Star is a story that aims to raise awareness of children (and adults) to the problem of pollution. In this case, water pollution. Alludes to living beings who live there and that are directly affected.
The human unconsciousness means that they themselves suffer, too, the consequences of their own actions.
Friendship and group work is lauded as one of the values to preserve.
The taste for writing came up with the need to tell stories to children. As a teacher, it is something that delights me.
Storytelling opens the doors of imagination and the words take shapes of the different characters.
To create the love of reading, is also a goal.
In addition to writing and teaching, theater is also part of my life.
This project is one of many (existing) and your participation in it would give me great joy.
The author of the illustrations is Mafalda M. Teixeira (which, actually, is my daughter).
The investment is for the entire editing and delivery.
Rosalinda, A Estrela-do-Mar Ambientalista
The entire amount raised beyond the goal will be donated to SOS Animal and other animal help associations.
Can I count on you?
About the author
Hello.
My name is Ana Cristina Cordeiro dos Santos Martins, I was born in Lisbon, on 15th February, 1966 and I live in Almada. I spent my childhood in this city and I always liked to write.
I loved to tell stories, charming stories, to my daughter.
When completing a degree in Portuguese and English teaching and had direct contact with children, the passion for stories increased. The Children's Literature was, for me, something pleasurable. I imagined myself a child. As a teacher of those children, I also loved being a storyteller.
Meanwhile, it also emerged a taste for theater and I created a group in 2004. The first play was dedicated to children and I loved performing and directing it. After two more plays of my own, I wrote Carolina, The Smiling Witch, an educational play and entirely dedicated to children, especially to the 1st cycle.
In addition to writing plays, I also started to write children's books, poetry (see facebook.com/Marshmallows), research and romance.
The taste for Portuguese Language (my mother tongue) went so far as to attend the Master course in Linguistics at Faculdade de Letras, University of Lisbon.
Discovering how words combine to convey something is fascinating to me.
(I would love that Rosalinda leave the paper and stepped out to a stage, soon.)
