The Nest is the bed of our parents. It is the place where we feel safe throughout life. However, when we are small and we need more of this security, we will give you minor and end up doing anything to escape him. When we reach adulthood we realize the importance of the nest. Then, and only then, we are ready to build our and thus restart the cycle.
Like other fantastic movies that made us dream during our childhood and made what we are today as adults, NINHO tells the story of a boy named Miguel, a dreamer that lives alone in lost island in the middle of the sea with his grandfather.
During his childhood, Miguel is fascinated by the outside world. He dreams about a city that he can only see the lights from far away.
One day, Miguel and his grandpa have to leave the island towards the city and his childhood's dream is revealed. The true nature of the real world comes up. A world driven by addictions and by the power of the money. Miguel gets disappointed and he returns the island alone where he rebuilds his grandfather's house, like how it was in his childhood - this is NINHO (nest).
This story is based on a real world fact. Houses are getting destroyed in Algarve's small island of Ria Formosa, and the people that live there have to leave their, so considered, illegal houses.
NINHO is the wish to break free.
And the will of returning to our nest.
