LusiTiny is a prototype of an ecological wooden house built on wheels. It is based on the Tiny House concept, in large expansion all over the world. The idea of a wooden house on wheels is the freedom it allows, with all the comforts of a "ordinary" house. Because it is so small, it is also easy maintenance, very economical and ecological, and it also wants and can be self-sufficient.
LusiTiny, besides being a responsible and conscious way of dwelling, is a mobile house, and because it is on wheels it doesn’t need licence and can be placed in green zoning, for instance. It was also designed in order to decrease its ecological footprint. Because of the house’s small dimensions its inhabitants will be especially aware of their actions of their natural and social environment.
LusiTiny is now in construction. It started in february 2015 and we are looking forward to having it completed by august 2015. The project is being developed by two young architects, Carolina Marques and Kelly Martins, and have had the unconditional support of the Marcenaria e Carpintaria Marques (carpentry) on its construction. The house has been built with great effort on the part of all direct stakeholders and the people and companies who also believe in the idea.
We prepared this crowdfunding for one of the last, but not least important, step on the realisation of the project: the placing of the cork coating on the inside walls, and the installation of a system of solar panels. Cork because it is a Portuguese material, but above all it is natural, comfortable and very ecological. Solar panels to generate its own energy and make the house autonomous.
