A collection of 6 children's stories about mills, how they operate, the different gadgets and types of mills, bring to light these giants who gave us bread...

The first story was born in the mills of ANACOM, in the national day of the mills, when the challenge of telling a story about windmills to children was released but nothing was found in which the mill was the main character.

After this story, other's came.

Six stories, three books ...

With this marketing campaign we intend to publish the first two stories in a single book.

These first two stories tell us about a windmill and a watermill.

They allow us to know some features of each of these gadgets and attract the children’s attention to these giants that not long ago were the workforce that converted the seeds into flour. The main responsible for the production of bread, which was the basis of food for all portuguese people.

To know how human creativity took advantage of the energy of nature to turn it into work, how they took advantage of the wind, the  water or animals to to put to work gadgets which milled and transformed is not only interesting but also a stimulus to continue to undertake, to build new solutions and new mills even adapted to the time and the immense resources that we have nowadays.

On 7 April is celebrated the national day of the mills, where many, from north to south of Portugal, open the doors and create dynamics that allow Children and grown-ups to visit them, see some of the active windmills and learn the terminology of the components of the mills.

These stories are intended to add another tool to make children reach this past still very valid, both for ingenuity, for history and for the footprint that still is in our heritage.

I hope to see this project be accomplished and that we can raise enough to launch this little seed, capturing children with stories and a passionate illustration.

P.s .: The price outside the marketing campaign will be higher, so taking advantage of this opportunity not only allows you to implement the launch of the book but also to purchase it at a more attractive price this charming story.

About the author

One passionate about education, children and the color that these two contain.

Graduated in the educational and social area and with an extremely important pathway by the company that manages the Portuguese network of mills, where I had the opportunity to know a little more about the reality of the mills in Portugal.

From this path were born some stories that at the time were used to make sessions with children but like many projects, were filed in the drawer with my exit.

However, the incentives to get this project out of the drawer and share these stories have been a constant but the heavy machinery of the publishing houses has brought resistance, therefore by putting into practice the teachings of the mills, taking advantage of the new dynamics and "forces of nature" that are the communication technologies, I hereby experience the ingenuity of the PPL and convert the Ideas in accomplishments, taking the draft from the drawer and turning it available to the contact network and gauging the real possibility and interest to materialize it.

I hope you like the idea as much as I do and that you fall in love with the illustration as I did and that we can implement this project, which will be everyones.

With the illustration that I conceived for the story, at the start, but that always manages to surprise on the upside. My illustrator will be brought to light when the project has wings to fly. But to understand how beautiful she is and how much she might surprise you, she left us with an image that will be the cover of the campaign and whose rights are reserved.

Thank you all.
