A collection of 6 children's stories about mills, how they operate, the different gadgets and types of mills, bring to light these giants who gave us bread...
The first story was born in the mills of ANACOM, in the national day of the mills, when the challenge of telling a story about windmills to children was released but nothing was found in which the mill was the main character.
After this story, other's came.
Six stories, three books ...
With this marketing campaign we intend to publish the first two stories in a single book.
These first two stories tell us about a windmill and a watermill.
They allow us to know some features of each of these gadgets and attract the children’s attention to these giants that not long ago were the workforce that converted the seeds into flour. The main responsible for the production of bread, which was the basis of food for all portuguese people.
To know how human creativity took advantage of the energy of nature to turn it into work, how they took advantage of the wind, the water or animals to to put to work gadgets which milled and transformed is not only interesting but also a stimulus to continue to undertake, to build new solutions and new mills even adapted to the time and the immense resources that we have nowadays.
On 7 April is celebrated the national day of the mills, where many, from north to south of Portugal, open the doors and create dynamics that allow Children and grown-ups to visit them, see some of the active windmills and learn the terminology of the components of the mills.
These stories are intended to add another tool to make children reach this past still very valid, both for ingenuity, for history and for the footprint that still is in our heritage.
I hope to see this project be accomplished and that we can raise enough to launch this little seed, capturing children with stories and a passionate illustration.
P.s .: The price outside the marketing campaign will be higher, so taking advantage of this opportunity not only allows you to implement the launch of the book but also to purchase it at a more attractive price this charming story.
