The 8 ½ Italian Film Festival returns in its 7th edition, from 10 to 18 of April at Cinema São Jorge, in Lisbon.

The 8 ½ Festa do Cinema Italiano is an initiative of the association Il Sorpasso in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Embassy in Portugal.

Created in 2008, 8 ½ is a festival born and raised in Portugal, based on the work of a team of Portuguese and Italian professionals.

The 8 ½ Italian Film Festival returns in its 7th edition, from 10 to 18 of April at Cinema São Jorge, in Lisbon.

To maintain the quality in terms of programming and events, which has always been one of our goals, we need your support!

8 ½ Italian Film Festival is supported by the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute in Lisbon and established a strategic partnership with CML / EGEAC in a coproduction with the Cinema São Jorge.

In addition to these key partners, who have always supported the festival, we need financial support to move forward with the programming in which we have been working with effort and passion. We believe that our festival can continue to grow!

The support that we ask will allow us to move forward with the program and bring a greater number of films and guests (directors, actors and film professionals), but also offer a series of parallel activities that have always been a point of strength of the fesdtival .

In exchange for the support we guarantee everyone an opportunity to participate and enjoy the various moments of our festival.

About the author

Associação Il Sorpasso

The Il Sorpasso Cultural Association, based in Lisbon, was founded in 2008 with the aim of spreading the film culture and to explore and promote cultural relations between Portugal and Italy.

Young but already with fixed bases, the Association's staff is composed by representatives of the most varied and important organizations active in the promotion of culture in Portugal such as the Portuguese Cinematheque, the FIPRESCI and the Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival , Doc Lisboa .

In addition to the different initiatives in promotional activities, the most important is the planning, production and organization of 8 ½ - Italian Cinema Festival (www.festadocinemaitaliano.com) that in a few years became one of the most respected and followed events in the capital.
