"Man-horse" is a personal and independent musical project. This debut work "Reminiscences of a man-horse" was written and recorded between April 2014 and September 2015. This album gathers musical chronicles of my last year and a half.

This debut work "Reminiscences of a man-horse" was written and recorded between April 2014 and September 2015.
This album gathers musical chronicles of my last year and a half. This was a solitary process, of learning and discovery. This album was totally recorded at home. Different homes, different spaces. Different versions of the same songs (One of the rewards is an “outtakes album” built with this materials). Songs about being Portuguese. About what I see, how I see it, and my projection in whom I am not. These songs are solitary voyages. Somewhat happy, somewhat melancholic, somewhat nostalgic, angry, ironic…
So, hours and hours of recording, editing, mixing, re-recording, mixing and mastering after, I think It’s time to release it. Even though the costs to produce 300 copies on CD, with the quality and elements that I find important for the object itself, are not too high (eg. Booklet, cardboard fold, etc.) at this time, they are way too high for me to support.
This project tested my limits of the DIY (Do it yourself) process. I cleaned hotel rooms, sold blood, serve as guinea pig for scientific and pharmaceutical experiments (think there might be a relationship between that and a third nipple which appeared in my back), participated in improper films (As Sound assistant) and sang in a few thematic Zombie Metal weddings.   I really need to release this album now, otherwise I risk not having the health to continue and move to the second one, which is already being written.
I believe that this work will bring something more to the world, than 300 round pieces of plastic and 600 cardboard sheets and A4 paper.

About the author

 Who am I?

I was born in 1972, after nine months in hiding in my mother’s womb.
Out in the world, the German singer Mary Ross won the Eurovisdion Festival with "Nur die Liebe läßt each leben". My mother must have watched and liked, for today, I do not know why, I have a special affection for thit song.
At two, I take the Portuguese revolution too literally, and became erratic. Jumping from place to place, house to house, country to country. I like to travel. However, I do not like airports, airplanes, boats or hotels and I always take my pillow. I bought my first Fender when I was 18 and my first couch at 33.
But actually what I really love is to learn things, new things, old things, things that do not exist, things that do not make sense and things that are just plain useless.

During college I started to work in advertising. In this period I was fortunate to work with very talented people and a lot changed. This luck has accompanied me throughout life.
In 1999 I'm not going into space but to New York, which is almost the same thing. Studied film. I directed 3 shorts, although only one was a film.
I return to Portugal and during nine years worked as a director (5 short films, a mockumentary, advertising, and performing arts videos), sound designer, writer, editor, advertising. The ones I can remember...
In 2007 everything changes. Big Bang, my daughter is born.
The responsibilities increase, the nights decrease, priorities change and I have to become an example that life is worth living.
In 2011 founded a performance arts collective with Ana Ribeiro: the Deluded Divas (www.divasiludidas.org)

Since then, in addition to director, set designer, producer, I have developed my work as a composer and musician in Divas Iludidas. In 2013 Divas Iludidas join forces with 6 other artists and open the cultural space “Latoaria”.
 In 2015 I move to Berlin. Big Bang again.
Right now I'm finishing this project "Reminiscences of a man-horse" and reediting a short film I shot in 2007 and that was never been exhibited, "My beloved white rabbit".
 Right now it’s cold, raining, I’m typing and preparing to make a cup of coffee.

Budget and due dates

Copies, covers and A4 booklets printing: 1364 Eur.
GEMA registration of the work: 50 Euro.
Platform percentage (PPL): +/- 5% + VAT 90 Eur. (Aprox.)
Various expences (Mail, test prints, etc.): 96 Eur.

Schedule
Materials delivery for production is made right after the finacement is in my bank account.
15 working days after the records are ready to send out.

    Espero que estejam bem.
    Como sabem o valor da Campanha de Crowdfunding não foi atingido, por isso a vossa contribuição será devolvida.
    Descobri agora que têm de solicitar essa devolução.
    Peço desculpa por este incómodo. Sempre pensei que como não antingi o objectivo o valor era automaticamente reembolsado.
    Pois, não é. E parece que se não solicitarem o valor fica para a plataforma, o que acho pouco honesto.
