Support for the repair of the roof of the social housing unit in the Union of Parishes of Vila Cova de Alva and Anceriz, in Vila Cova de Alva, damaged by Storm Kristin.

The Union of Parishes of Vila Cova de Alva and Anceriz presents this campaign with the aim of raising financial support for the urgent repair of a social housing unit located in Vila Cova de Alva, municipality of Arganil.

This property has social significance for the parish and is linked to local memory, being known by the community for having once been inhabited by a former basket maker, a reference that remains in the collective memory. However, the present objective focuses on its restoration for social housing purposes, placing this property at the service of the public interest and the community.

Following Storm Kristin, the house suffered very significant damage, with part of the roof being torn off and ruined, exposing the structure to the elements and causing serious leaks inside. This situation seriously compromises the preservation of the property and jeopardizes the stability of the walls and the feasibility of its repair.

The priority intervention consists of rebuilding the roof, considered essential to halt the progressive deterioration of the dwelling and allow, at a later stage, its complete restoration for social housing, thus responding to a concrete need of the community.

The estimated cost for the roof repairs is around €30,000.00, an amount that the Parish Union does not have the financial capacity to cover without external support.

Completing this project is urgent and essential to protect the existing structure, prevent the building's progressive collapse, and preserve a house of significant social and community importance.
