Innovative Educational Social Network

Let's revolutionize education in Portugal? It's time to end the education system that confuses students minds. This is 2021 the modern 1920s, it's time for a change.

It is indisputable that the education system has been practically the same for over 150 years, and now, due to the current situation of the pandemic, many students do not understand the subjects taught by teachers due to distance learning. Furthermore, it is also indisputable that the majority of students prefer the explanation of a subject coming from a colleague who understands it (since both have the "same young expressions") than from the teacher. We speak for ourselves and also from hundreds or thousands of other students.

We conducted an anonymous survey only for students at our school to reveal the most basic details of our social network, and we received over 200 responses in just 3 days , the first 100 of which took place in the first two hours.

About 85% of students agreed that they preferred their colleagues to teach them and more than 80% loved the idea of the social network. So we are developing Grades (pronounced in English), the innovative and fresh social network that will change education in Portugal for the better. It is based on a system of posts (in which everyone helps each other), friends, followers and a chat . There are also some virtual trophies when performing certain tasks or goals, such as helping x users in a week.

There will also be an option to be a Teacher in which half a dozen pieces of information should be given and in which anyone (over 14 years old) can be and make money from their "Students" by giving explanations online or creating their courses online. Any graduate in an area who sends us proof that he is, in fact, licensed, automatically receives a "Credibility Certificate" so that all users who see his profile can know that he is a teacher with studies in the area he has chosen help and teach.

In short, we are two students trying to change the country for the better, we really hope we can count on you!

Our team consists of two friendly members finishing high school in the same class: João Rui Rego and Afonso Resendes.

About two years ago Afonso had an idea similar to the one we are developing now, but it was shortly afterwards abandoned for no specific reason. In December 2020 with distance learning, João thought of the concept of Afonso's network a little differently, and both saw that it could now have immense potential and therefore began to work hard.

Both are 17 years old and therefore have João's father as supervisor of this campaign.

Budget and due dates

Our plan is to put the first version of Grades on the air on April 1, 2021 without some features, but that would be released up to a month later.

However, to launch the network we need to buy servers or Plan B, host our website online, which will cost a few hundred euros. With the money to spare, our plan is just to spend it on advertising through all social networks to alert students of the invention of this new network that we know they will be curious to see right away.

At first, we will not receive money from the network, however, eventually we will either post a few advertisements in order not to spoil the user experience, or keep a small portion of what Teachers receive. In addition, we will have a service for the promotion of Teachers profiles in which we will receive € 2.99+ for each promotion.
