The PPL publisher is pleased to present Jorge Luis Castro's debut book.

A friend is born in the life of Luís, a poor child of housekeepers from the upper Minho in the mid-twentieth century, in the form of a Clay Girl, created by the beautiful chance of Nature.

Menina de Barro arrives at bookstores as a manifesto against the disposable character of human relations. The whole sensory, mental and physical metaphor focuses on this present dilemma, showing the irreversible character of our actions on all its prisms: positive and negative. If everything we do is an eternally resounding mark of the times, why should we not leave, in the key moments of life, our very personal manifesto of humanity, compassion and beauty?

About the author

Musician, lyric singer of Porto. In love with the Portuguese lyric, he was present at all stages of his life. Among the concerts and performances of songs, operas and plays, he regularly contacts and interprets great European authors of all eras, from English dramaturgy to the great French and German poets. In the same way he is captivated by the timelessness of what is universal to the experience of the human being and by the dilemmas imposed by temporality.
