With a Solidary Northeast we will win the COVID-19

Fundraising campaign for the acquisition of FFP2 masks, gowns, aprons, gloves, caps and various medical support material to donate to the various ULSNE, IPSS, Fire and Security Forces units in the district of Bragança.

The current health crisis, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, is still on its upward curve, despite all the government measures already taken and despite the enormous civility, respect and responsibility with which the majority of the population is facing this situation.

We must guarantee Social Isolation, but we cannot simply wait for everything to be resolved. We must ensure proactivity and anticipate the difficulties that will arise in the next two months.

That is why we decided to launch a fundraising campaign for the purchase of various equipment and materials that can be used in a hospital environment and are being reported by professionals as being in short supply or available only in small quantities, namely:

• Waterproof coat
• Duckbill masks (FFP2)
• Plastic Aprons
• Cuffs
• Shoe Covers
• Protective overalls (type of paint)
• Caps
• Boot covers
• Gloves
• Protection kits
• Laser thermometers

Only donations are accepted through this campaign. If you have any of these equipments available (no matter how much!) And wish to make a donation in kind, please contact us directly or visit the website www.nordestesolidario.pt.

The more PPE we can deliver, the more protected we and health professionals will be, as fewer cross-infections will occur and less professionals will be infected. Only with sufficient equipment will we be in fact prepared for what is coming!

We must help ULSN, IPSS and the Security Forces in this difficult time, in every way possible. We have to help those who help us. The district needs us all.

We ask for maximum collaboration from everyone, sharing, commenting, making suggestions and also making some of your time available to contribute to this initiative.

VERY IMPORTANT:

None of the promoters of the campaign has any financial remuneration or business connection to this activity and, thanks to the exemption from PPL fees, all the money can be effectively invested in the purchase of the equipment. Campaign supporters are completely voluntary, without receiving any compensation.

Founded in 2012, Nordeste Global has carried out several initiatives to promote active citizenship. Its object is the valorization of the Transmontano Northeast, stimulating the study and reflection of issues of a cultural, economic and social nature of interest to the region; through the promotion of regional debates and forums; intervening as a local and regional development entity, contributing to the correction of asymmetries and promoting equal opportunities and gender, through seminars, technical colloquia, workshops and professional training actions; as well as the development of cultural activities.

At a time of serious difficulties for the entire Trasmontana region, caused by the pandemic of COVID-19, we understand that it was necessary to contribute, in all possible ways, to mitigate the health impact of the pandemic and assist those who are at the forefront of the fight against this virus.

Budget and due dates

The minimum price to place an order for masks (minimum one thousand masks) is around 2300 €, including shipping costs. At the value of the campaign, transaction fees and fees from the fundraising platform will also be removed.

Each mask has a market value that varies between 1 and 2 USD (United States Dollar). We are contacting different Chinese suppliers to be able to bring FFP2 or N95 masks with CE Certification to Portugal as soon as possible.

The order will be placed until the end of April. The sooner we reach our goal the better! We have to prepare in time!

PPL is not charging any fees for this campaign except for the payment costs
