Health and sustainability, these are the words that led Paula to create CAyUVEG, a cashew cheese production project ready to be licensed! To finally make her dream possible, we need your help!

CAyUVEG aims to produce artisanal cheeses aimed at lactose intolerant, vegans, vegetarians, gourmet cuisine and everyone who wants to change their eating habits for the most varied reasons.

I have already started some contacts with some organizations with the objective of obtaining financial support, but they only support macro-projects. I've thought about giving up but I feel that this project is the project of my life. This is a project of love and for love. Carolina is my 17-year-old daughter and she will be one of my partners for now and it's also for her that I do it.

At the moment I use a Thermomix as a processor that takes only 1 kg and for a more efficient start I need a processor that holds 10 kg, a maturation fridge and a laptop. For now the project is being licensed in my house, but later on I would like to start in my own space.

It is the first project of life with consistency, since we live in troubled times at the environmental level and I would like to contribute with my small part.

At the financial level and in a sustainable way, I think it is not ideal to make bank loans.

About the author

My name is Paula, I was born in Angola and I came to Portugal in 75. I am 55 years old. I am a passionate and defender of nature. I try as much as possible to live according to my ideals and not what I was taught (family, society). Therefore, I consider myself a non-standard person. The CAyUVEG project arises from another previous Journey of the Senses through the Flavors and Aromas of the Earth and which emerged from a long journey to India, a journey through alternative communities which live in a holistic way. I started cooking vegan dishes, but fermenting food has always been a passion since I thought it was fantastic to eat sour soup at age 7.

Budget and due dates

The money that will be obtained from this crowdfunding will be used to buy equipment for my work. At the moment I am using a friend's computer to develop this crowdfunding, however all my publications and sales are made from my cell phone, which often limits me and makes my work difficult.

I also need a fridge for the maturation of the cheeses. At the moment I only have my personal fridge. In addition to not having much space, it is not suitable for curing cheeses.
