The social center has its works stopped due to lack of support. The Congregation Sisters of Reparation of Our Lady of Fátima present in Memo, Maliana, Timor-Leste, has been doing a great job with the population, but they need help to continue!
The "Congregation of the Reparating Sisters of Our Lady of Fátima" has had a mission in the village of Memo, Maliana (Timor-Leste) since 2011, with two important projects for the community: a health clinic , which is working with the work of the team of local health and the collaboration of volunteers from other countries, and a social center .
The Social Center Padre Manuel Nunes Formigão, supports 300 children from 4 to 15 years old, from preschool to 9th grade, who attend the center in extracurricular activities and are offered a meal. This socio-educational project has been supported since 2015 by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion of East Timor. The activities are carried out in very limited, small and insufficient provisional spaces.
The construction of the Centro Social Padre Manuel Nunes Formigão is very important for the mission. This construction of a new, larger space began in 2021 with funding acquired from international organizations the Papal Foundation and Peace Maker, but is currently stalled due to lack of funding needed to continue. So that the activities for the children of Memo can continue to take place, it is necessary to finish what has already been started. This request is specifically for the doors and windows of the new social centre.
Therefore, we appreciate all the help that is possible to restart the works of the social center!
