This book was born out of a willingness to help and make known a little of the spirit lived on a mountain climbing expedition in Nepal and its welcoming people.
This is a bilingual PT / ENG book for all ages, which tells in a simple way, the story of an expedition to Ama Dablam.
The book is an author's edition (limited to 500 copies), has 56 pages and 20 watercolors done by artist Mariola Landwoska.
The story is told by the climber João Garcia, who has been on the summit of Ama Dablam twice and who considers this mountain one of the ten most beautiful in the world.
The book unveils the itinerary of tourists and climbers who trek the Khumbu valley, the same path they travel to Mount Everest base camp.
Why support the Nepalese NGO Khumbila Foundation?
In the 2015 earthquake, João Garcia was in Nepal and with this NGO helped to distribute essential goods to the local population. Now, this book is intended to help those who live from work on the mountain, as guides and porters.

Budget and due dates
This campaign will run for about 60 days since the approval by PPL platform.
The amount we are asking for, 4,200 Eur, only covers editing costs, so we want to exceed it!
Only from this amount do we truly begin to be able to donate to the Khumbila Foundation in Nepal.
Your donations will be distributed as follows:
3,812.55 Eur - For editing costs (graphics, translation and illustrations) and postage.
387.45 Eur - PPL Commission.
The remaining amount raised will be donated to the NGO Khumbila Foundation in Nepal.

Atingimos o valor mínimo que necessitávamos de alcançar para passarmos o “ponto de não retorno” na plataforma da PPL. Isto quer dizer que este valor cobre os custos da produção dos 500 livros e a comissão da PPL e que a partir de agora, todo o valor que conseguirmos angariar será enviado para o Nepal.
Como promotor sinto-me grato pela vossa ajuda e desde já o meu Obrigado. Perante a vossa solidariedade gostaria de pedir-vos mais um esforço, o de divulgar o link da PPL pelos vossos amigos e conhecidos para conseguirmos duplicar este valor e esgotarmos todos os livros disponíveis.
A maior indústria do Nepal é o turismo e este tempo de Pandemia “retirou” o único sustento de muitas famílias.
