The Ludoteca de Itacolomi is a project that aims to give the population of this municipality the possibility of having contact with books, games, records and activities that promote books and reading.

Ludoteca de Itacolomi - We are what we play is a project that aims to give the population of the municipality of Itacolomi and its visitors the possibility of having contact with books, games, records and activities that promote the book and reading in moments of leisure. Thus, this Ludoteca will be a playful, educational, recreational and cultural space, especially designed for children and adolescents, with the primary function of giving them back the space and time to play, freely and at their pleasure.

Our main objective is to promote a space where recreational and creative activities can be developed that contribute to the educational, cultural and social development of the community.

What do you intend to offer? Library (catalog under constant construction); Game space; Lending of games and books; Development of projects and workshops with local associations. We want, with the Ludoteca de Itacolomi, to create a space where the culture of being with family is promoted, where there are pillows on the floor, books on shelves, instruments, records, people, many people and with they are stories to be tasted.

About the author

Hello, my name is Eva Barros Matos, I'm a Portuguese actress and storyteller who, in 2014, met and fell in love with the interior of Brazil, more specifically for a small town in the interior of Belo Horizonte called Itacolomi. If the waterfalls and the kilometers and kilometers of vegetation left her speechless, it was the stories of these places that made her want to know more about the place. Unfortunately, there is no space dedicated to stories in Itacolomi and since then he has wanted to create a space for that purpose, where families can have moments of sharing and growth. In this small town there is no bookstore, a library and the inhabitants have very little access to literary culture and it is in order to fill this gap that this project aims to be born.

In Portugal, she works as an actress in theatre, cinema, television and dedicates much of her time to oral narration.

Scheduling:

From 18 - 19 April 2022 - Purchase of stuffing (books, games, rugs, records, etc.);
April 20th 2022 - Space Preparation;
April 21, 2022 - Opening to the public of the first space of the "Ludoteca Itacolomi - Somos o que playmos", a corner in the Itacolomi community hall with an in-person story time with online accountants from Lisbon;
From April 16th - Door open to the Itacolomi Ludoteca to the community.
