Restructuring works at the Children's Therapy Center
Our project was born from a dream: to support families and enhance the development of children with and without special needs. From there, we went from dream to reality by opening a physical space in Lisbon that could welcome these families who need some therapy and a valid therapeutic process.
Since 2019, we have welcomed many children and their families. In order to provide an effective response, we need to increase the space, but we have not yet achieved the ideal conditions for responsible intervention.
For a space with greater accessibility and adaptation to our entire service population, we need to invest in restructuring works, which aim to improve the physical space so that it becomes as functional as possible, creating a more welcoming, safe and suitable environment for the development of each therapeutic intervention.
Adapting the space involves dividing rooms according to different therapies, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychomotor therapy, among others, with appropriate infrastructures, namely, for controlling auditory, visual and privacy noise.
Accessibility will allow better use of necessary adapted facilities and equipment, with greater safety.
The main objective of these restructuring works is to provide an environment conducive to the therapeutic development of children, taking into account their emotional, cognitive and physical needs. The focus is on the well-being of each child, creating safe, adapted and stimulating spaces for carrying out therapies.
To this end, we need the contribution of everyone who can and wants to actively participate in this cause, enabling us to move forward with these crucial works to welcome our children.
