We are organizing the coming of the Zapatista Caravan for Life to Portugal! For the Caravan to cross the country from north to south, we need your help.
The Mountain is already on the high seas, the Zapatista Caravan will arrive!
At the beginning of June this year, the Zapatista Pela Vida Caravan will land on the European continent. This is a caravan in defense of life and against the logic of capital, which follows the launch of Declaración por la Vida and whose proposal is to connect the struggles from below and to the left of the entire world to effectively build a world where many worlds fit - and not just that of those who continually accumulate wealth and power at the expense of others.

The Caravan's proposal is to travel to five continents, starting in Europe. Here we propose to take a trip that is the opposite of colonization: to meet the other Europe, the insubmitted. The first group - la avanzada - set sail on the Montaña (Mountain) sailboat, May 2, from Isla Mujeres off the Mexican coast of Chiapas. Seven Zapatistas companions travel on the Montaña - the 421 Squadron - which currently crosses the Atlantic. The avanzada comes to open the way for several other companions, in delegations composed mainly of women, who will join in different places between the months of July and August.

We want this historic passage to reach communities from north to south of Portugal, from the interior to the coast, from urban centers to rural areas, from cities to peripheries, co-creating different activities with different groups and organizations. The arrival of the companions will add and dialogue with local experiences, guaranteeing an exchange of experiences with a view to the (re)construction of a global movement for life and against big capital.
For this to be possible, we need your contribution. All help is welcome! The amount set as a target is not enough for all the estimated costs, so we ask you to collaborate with as much as possible. In parallel to this crowdfunding, we will also organize preparatory and clarification events in the cities of Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto, to which we invite everyone who wants to participate in this Caravan!
