Today the United Firefighters Without Borders Organization is an Association specialized in carrying out emergency projects for the impacts of natural, anthropogenic or socio-environmental risks with catastrophic effects; Elaboration and realization of cooperation projects for the development of Latin American, European and African institutions for the prevention and combat of fires and other claims; Humanitarian aid for disadvantaged populations; Response with operational teams in situations of major disasters with a focus on the integral security of the human person at all levels; Protection and defense of the environment with a focus on sustainability aimed at future generations; And the protection of children and adolescents, having them as the future of the continuity of the human species with the intention of developing attitudes and behaviors that transform them into responsible citizens, to guarantee an ethical and social culture, of coexistence between peoples and nations.

About the author

Created in 2005 in Brazil and with the intention of encompassing the other Portuguese-speaking countries in the midst of its disaster response operations, its constitution was expanded and the Institution was renamed to a new international scope with the entry of members from Portugal to the BUSF, now known as the United Firefighters Organization without Borders of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries - BUSF-CPLP, able to organize delegations in all Portuguese-speaking countries and other signatory countries of the United Nations - UN that are in their own interest of Fire and / or similar organizations that want to become part of the institution, thus taking on an international constitutive form and with greater global representation.

In 2016, in the figure of our Regional CEO for Portugal and CPLP, Mr. Carlos Walcher, our second delegation, the BUSF-Portugal Association, was established on Portuguese soil, which has been hard at implementing the growth of the membership, providing training for response of community teams in emergencies and training of Task Force members to respond to major disasters. In addition to developing significant partnerships with governmental, private institutions and NGOs in the European Community and also with countries in Africa.

Our first international work and with the Fire Service of the Republic of Angola in sub-Saharan Africa, also called Black Africa - “Cradle of Humanity”, to adapt and train new equipment, materials, processes, methods and protocols, this mission having lasted four years from April 2005 to end in 2009.

Today we have offices in 16 countries and are recognized by ANEPC - National Authority for Civil Protection in Portugal as OVPC - Voluntary Civil Protection Organization.

Budget and due dates

We need your help, whatever it is to acquire uniforms so that our volunteers can help those who most need help. We have a cost of 150 Euros per uniform and we need at least 10

uniforms to equip new volunteers for social actions. We have a very short timming because we need to order the confection and place the volunteers for social actions as soon as possible.
