Let's help Mafranimal!!

Mafranimal needs your help! We finally have a space for our shelter, we just need to complete this project, which will house dozens of furry friends! Help us help! Make a difference...give once, help forever!

Mafranimal has been around since 2013 and operates primarily in the municipality of Mafra. Over the years, we've taken in hundreds of animals, who are subsequently adopted. We've used foster families, which have been crucial for us in recent years, but as we want to do more... much more, we finally have a space that's slowly taking shape, but we still need to invest significantly.

We still need to complete the catteries and kennels to give our pets the comfort and safety they deserve, as well as a fenced area for them to roam and play safely. An annex/container is essencial to store food and other supplies, and building an  infirmary is a request to be fulfilled. Everything is expensive, and we've already exhausted our resources.

MafrAnimal is an animal protection association created to help and protect animals in all their diversity. Our field of intervention has been predominantly in the municipality of Mafra, but we aim to play a broader role in raising awareness.

We aim to protect animals from abandonment and abuse, and provide assistance and support with sterilizations, adoptions, and food aid.

We have played an active role in the community, providing civic education and raising awareness about animal rights, an issue that, from a systemic perspective, is also linked to public health and safety. As is well known, animal overpopulation, due to the lack of sterilization policies for stray animal colonies, has a detrimental effect on the animals' quality of life and also poses risks to public health and safety in the communities where it occurs. To this end, we promote awareness-raising activities in schools, provide information through various campaigns we run, and are active on social media.
